Happy New Year!!

My sweet friend, Nancy, recently did a "top ten" post. I just love the idea! You have to check out her cards. They are WOW!
So I decided I would post my top ten cards of 2010 as it comes to a close. These cards are favorites or sometimes ones that are special to me. 2010 has been a year filled with just about every emotion, but over all it has been amazing! I am hoping that 2011 brings you all joy, happiness, love and health. I will be celebrating tonight with my sweet hubby. We will ring in the New Year with classic Cuban traditions: we eat 12 grapes at midnight and we throw cups (or sometimes buckets) of water! What does this mean? Well, the water symbolizes all of the bad that happened the past year, so you throw it away and put it behind you, so you can start fresh! I love this tradition. It's fun and has a great meaning! I've also chosen my word for 2011: joy. I want this word to remind me to make everything joyful, even the most mundane of tasks. There is joy everywhere, and I want to make sure I experience it and not let it pass me by. I wish you all joy as you ring in the New Year!

My Top Ten:

celebrate sunshine

birthday wishes

Gallery Idol 2010

anniversary cake

Happy New Year!!!!!

Leaving on a jet plane

Hello! I have some exciting news! I am going to Australia with my family! This is been a huge dream for all of us to go since we were little, and we were supposed to go last year but my mom had emergency back surgery, so it had to be postponed exactly a year, which is why it is now at the craziest time to go ever! Right before CHA! Ahhhh! That is why we have been working so hard. We really want almost everything done before we leave January 3rd. We come back on the 19th!
Now, don't worry, we are still filling orders! You will be getting thank you notes from Erica! :) The other wonderful thing is that we are going to be featuring the design team while I am gone! Fun surveys and cards! I can't wait for you guys to get to know the design team better! They are absolutely amazing people! :)
Also, I may be a bit slower to answer emails, but I will be staying at a friend's house with access to internet, so I am not disappearing! :) I appreciate your patience with any email slowness.

I thought that this Bon Voyage card using Bake Me A Cake and Harold's ABCs would be a perfect travel card! It is fun to use patterned paper to take a stamp from birthday to bon voyage! I love that!

Sending big hugs to you all!
Card stock: Neenah
Patterned Paper: Studio Calico
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (bake me cake, harold's abcs)

Have an amazing day,

random cards!

Hello! Today I have some random cards for you! This one is a tiny little card that would be perfect for a housewarming gift! I just love Harold's ABCs to customize fun stickers!

Here is a *very* belated Hanukkah card. It was so cute in person, but I could not photograph it for the life of me! Don't you hate when that happens?
I wanted it to look like the dreidel from Happy Hanukkah was spinning so I stamped and silver heat embossed it at different angles. The silver Hambly transparency and the silver tinsel like ribbon makes the dreidels stand out!

This is actually a card without stamping. What?!?!? I had some extra Christmas chipboard pieces and I wanted to use them! I also used some of my extra chipboard pieces as present tags for Christmas! It was a great way to use up those little ones I hadn't been able to use yet!

Sending hugs to you all!
Card stock: Neenah, Papertrey
Patterned Paper: American Crafts, Hambly transparency
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (harold's abcs, happy hanukkah)
Ink: Versamark, Papertrey Ink
Etc: Cosmo Cricket chipboard, May Arts ribbon, Webster's Pages ribbon, Studio Calico twine, silver embossing powder, American Crafts dimensional sticker

Have an amazing day,

more joy!

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I wanted to share the card I made for my hubby. I just had to use the mistletoe from Bows and Holly! Hehe! Critters in the 'Burbs is one of his favorites so I made sure to include that, too! :)
It's funny. Every card that I made this year for my family had the word "joy" on it. I didn't intend that at all! So I decided I would make it my word for 2011. To find joy in everything. What a wonderful way to live, right? :)

I thought I would share some photos from our Christmas celebration! There was too much food as usual! Mike got me an Instax camera, and I am SO excited about it! Putter joined in the celebration! We took silly matching PJ pics with the timer. I am the timer operator. It's a work out! haha! We also did A LOT of work on the booth. There is a little picture in there. I've gotta tell you stitching felt to a 20 foot canvas is exhausting! It is fun, though!

Well, I am off to go work on the booth some more! CHA is fast approaching!
May your day be filled with joy!

Have an amazing day,

Happy Christmas, Eve! I thought I would share one of the cards that I made for my family. This one is for my brother! I tried to combine cool patterns that are similar to the clothes he wears and his love of inanimate objects with smiley faces! Haha! Cozy Christmas and Bannerific were the perfect fit! I made the fireplace like I did in this video, but I just added Mr. fire man to the card! I actually had cut out this super cute popcorn garland from some Dear Lizzy paper that I forgot to add. I am still so bummed that I forgot it!
I am out in the desert celebrating with my whole family. We do our big Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, in Cuban tradition, so I better get ready to eat a lot tonight!
I hope you all have a wonderful night! Wishing you lots of joy!
Card stock: Neenah, Papertrey

just a silly card!

Hahaha! I just had to do it! This is why I love alphabet stamp sets: making my own sayings! Harold's ABCs adds enough whimsy to this punny sentiment to make it more fun and cute rather than angry and negative. Haha! I made my shag carpeting from baker's twine, and I have to admit I sort of want baker's twine rugs now! :) These American Crafts dimensional stickers are perfect for coming up with punny sayings!
I hope I gave you a laugh today!

mass tag production

Hello! I have been in mass production mode! I decided to make the tags from this post and video for our pre-Christmas celebration with Mike's family this weekend!
The only change I made was using Lawn Trimmings twine and adding a jingle bell for more whimsy! I love my whimsy :). Hehe!
Here it is all filled out. How I wish my handwriting was prettier!
I attached it to our presents with some washi tape! :)
Here is what I have been spending most of my time doing lately: hand stitching felt to our 20 foot canvas wall for our CHA booth. Our booth is very homespun and handmade! A lot of love is going into this booth! :)

Oh also, please excuse the iPhone photos. Our camera was already packed! :) I had to bring out the hipstamatic app in there, too. I just can't help myself!
Card stock: Neenah Paper
Ink: Ranger Distress (tumbled glass, broken china, antique linen, vintage photo), Versamagic (red magic)
Etc: Lawn Trimmings twine, Spellbinders Nestabilities labels 4, jingle bells

Some News + Design Team Inspiration!

First a bit of news: I wanted to let you guys know that we are not having a January release in preparation for the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Trade Show. Don't worry, though! We have many sets being made as we speak that I think you guys will love, and we will have lots of inspiration going on throughout January! I also hope to take you guys along our journey of being at CHA for the first time. This is a big dream come true, and it is ALL because of you guys! I hope you guys will have fun traveling along this wild and crazy CHA path with us!

Speaking of being inspired: the Lawn Fawn Design team *always* inspires me. I mean, seriously, these girls are amazing!! I thought I would share two projects today that feature sets from this month. They are gorgeous!
Mariana's card is absolutely gorgeous! The colors are so fantastic and this sentiment from Hello Friend goes perfectly with this sweet bird from Fly Free! Love it!
Teri's card is so sweet! I love the banner and the mix of grid lines and polka dots! The way she colored the birds from Fly Free is just perfection! I am definitely smiling! :)
Thank you so much for visiting! Big hugs to you all!
Have an amazing day,

Make a Christmas card in 5 minutes with only what is on your desk!

I wasn't able to make a card yesterday because Mike and I actually decided to have a date night at Disneyland. We have been working so hard that we haven't had enough time together. It was so nice! So, this morning I thought I would issue a challenge to myself since I didn't have anything to blog! My challenge: Make a card in 5 minutes with what I have on my desk! Pretty much all of my Lawn Fawn Holiday sets are on my desk, so I grabbed Bows and Holly! I did some super quick Copic coloring and that part was done! The argyle punch is another one of my black Friday purchases that is still not put away. Haha! I had some Hero Arts layering papers on my desk from last week's blog hop and used a strip to back the argyle pattern. Baker's twine is usually somewhere laying around on my desk, and the Thickers came in my Studio Calico add on kit is which actually on the floor, but I think that still counts for my self imposed challenge!
I think my explanation was longer than making the card! Haha! You guys should try this, too! It really forced me to not think and just do! I had no plan at all when I made this card which is generally how I do it, anyways! Haha! But usually the lack of plan makes the card making go slower, by imposing the challenge I had to just go for it! Plus, I felt like I was on a game show. That is awesome.

I have a couple of pictures from our Disney visit. It is all decked out for Christmas and so pretty! It started to rain while we were there, but I don't mind walking in the rain! Here we are a little drenched but smiling!
I, of course, had to bring out my beloved Hipstamatic app on my iPhone to take a photo of my favorite ride: It's a Small World. I love the ride, the art, the colors! I love it all! The have so many lights on it at Christmastime that it is blinding! I love it!
Two things I learned in the last 24 hours: Date night is good for the soul. Card making as if you are on a game show rocks.

Hugs to you all! :)
